Privacy Policy
Last updated November 7, 2026.
The short version
- We collect very little: your email address, your first name if you give it, and the emails you send us. If you buy a download, we also get your name and what you bought.
- We use it to send you the free guide and our emails, to answer you, and to deliver what you buy.
- We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for ads.
- You can unsubscribe any time, and you can ask us to see or delete what we have about you.
Who we are
This website, denisehomeguide.com, is run by Denise Home Guide. A small team runs the site and handles your information.
When this policy says “we,” “us” or “our,” it means Denise Home Guide.
You can reach us at denise@denisehomeguide.com.
What we collect
When you sign up for the free guide
- Your email address.
- Your first name, if you choose to type it in. It is optional.
- The page you signed up on.
- The date and time you signed up.
- A record of which of our emails we have sent you, and when.
To stop spam signups
When someone uses the signup form, we turn their IP address (the number that identifies an internet connection) into a scrambled code called a salted hash. We never store the IP address itself. We use the code only to limit how many signups can come from one connection in an hour, so bots cannot flood the list. These codes are deleted after about a day.
When you email us
If you send us an email, we keep the message, your email address and anything you choose to include. This also covers replies to our emails, such as an “unsubscribe” reply.
When you buy a download
We sell digital downloads through Stripe Checkout, a payment page run by Stripe. You type your card details on Stripe’s page, not ours. Stripe handles your card, and we never see or store your full card number.
From Stripe, we receive your name, your email address and the details of your purchase (what you bought, the price and the date). We keep an order record and a private download link for you, which works for 7 days.
When you visit the site
- Hosting: our pages are delivered by our hosting company, Vercel. Like any web host, its servers handle basic technical details, such as your IP address and browser type, so the page can load and the site stays protected from attacks. We do not use these details to follow you around the web.
- A small setting in your browser: if you close the bar at the bottom of the screen, your browser remembers that until you close the tab, so it does not come back on every page. This setting stays in your browser. It is not sent to us.
How we use it
- To send you the free guide you asked for.
- To send our welcome emails over about 10 days, and then occasional home tips.
- To answer your emails and fix mistakes you tell us about.
- To deliver a download you bought, help you with it, and handle refunds.
- To keep the site and the signup form safe from spam and abuse.
- To follow the law, for example keeping purchase records for taxes.
Who helps us run the site
We use a few companies to do the work. They handle your information only to provide their service to us.
| Company | What it does for us | What it handles |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Our database | Signup details, our email records, emails you send us, order records |
| Resend | Sends and receives our email | Your email address, first name, and the emails between us |
| Stripe | Takes payments | Your card and purchase details |
| Vercel | Hosts the site | Basic technical details from your visit |
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of people or the site, or if the site is ever sold or passed to a new owner (in that case, this policy would still apply to what we already have).
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share it with anyone for ads.
- We do not run an ad network on the site yet. When we add one, we will update this policy first and add a banner that lets you choose about cookies before they are used.
Our emails and how to stop them
After you sign up, you get welcome emails over about 10 days, then occasional home tips. You can stop them any time, in any of these ways:
- Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
- Use the unsubscribe button your email app shows next to our messages.
- Email denise@denisehomeguide.com and ask us to take you off the list.
Once you unsubscribe, we keep a note that you did, so we do not email you again by mistake.
How long we keep it
- Signup details: while you are on our list. After you unsubscribe, we keep your address with the note that you unsubscribed, unless you ask us to delete it.
- Spam-check codes: about a day.
- Emails you send us: as long as we need them to answer you and keep a record of the conversation.
- Purchase records: as long as the law requires for taxes and accounting.
Keeping it safe
Only our own server code can read the signup database. The public cannot. Unsubscribe links are signed so nobody can guess or fake them, and we never put your email address in a web address. Still, no website can promise perfect security. If something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
Some US states, such as California, give people rights over their personal information. We offer these to everyone, wherever you live:
- Right to know: ask what personal information we have about you, where it came from, what we use it for and who we share it with.
- Right to delete: ask us to delete your personal information. We may keep what the law makes us keep, such as purchase records for taxes.
- Right to correct: ask us to fix information that is wrong.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell your personal information or share it for ads, so there is nothing to opt out of today. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and give you a clear way to say no.
- No penalty: we will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.
How to ask: email denise@denisehomeguide.com with the subject “Privacy request.” Tell us what you want us to do. To protect you, we will check that the request really comes from you, usually by replying to the email address we have on file. You can also have someone you trust ask for you, if you give them written permission. We will answer within 45 days.
Children
This site is for adults. It is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child under 13 has signed up, email us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Our pages link to stores like Amazon, Walmart and Target, and to the sources we use. When you leave our site, that site’s own privacy policy applies. Stores may use cookies to know you came from our link.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and change the “Last updated” date. If we make a big change, such as adding an ad network, we will say so on the site before it takes effect.
